Overview[]
Tools are equipped in the primary slot of the player's inventory and are the instruments through which the player interacts with their environment. While the majority are weapons, some tools are used for survival activities, like Fishing, Farming, and Building.
For the purposes of clarity on this Wiki, and to fill in the gaps of information missing from the game, any Tool that inflicts blunt, slashing, or fire damage is considered a melee weapon. Any tool that inflicts piercing, electric, or explosive damage is considered a ranged weapon.

- ↑ Certain enemies are exempt from being stunned (namely, the mech bosses and vultures), but all other enemies will be stunned when hit by the Dart Gun.

Note that the Shovel, Fishing Rod, and Hoe all deal very small amounts of damage, so they are all affected by any modifier for "melee weapons", but because their primary function is something other than combat, they are grouped here instead.
